World Duty Free in Bristol

World Duty Free (WDF) is a major travel retailer in the United Kingdom that seeks to provide passengers with the ultimate shopping experience in airports. It sells over 17,000 kinds of products through its stores found in Heathrow, Southampton, Gatwick, Aberdeen, Stansted, Glasgow, and Edinbrugh. The selection of goods found in its shops include cosmetics, fragrances, spirits, skincare, fine foods, confectionery, fashion accessories, souvenirs, sunglasses, wines, tobacco, and cigars. Now, the innovative retail store is setting its sights on Bristol International Airport (BIA) where it will operate a new tax and duty free concession as well as a specialist retail outlet.

WDF has been contracted to develop two new shops at the Bristol airport, with one to operate under the World Duty Free brand and the other to do business under the Collection name. The two stores are expected to open to customers in the spring of 2010. The WDF store will make use of a walk through design that would occupy about 10,000 square feet. It will showcase local products as part of a strategy to promote quality food and drink produced in the region. Some of the brands that will be featured in the WDF store are Gaymers Cider and Chapel Down vineyard wines. On the other hand, the specialised concession will sell luxury items such as handbags, watches, sunglasses, and jewellery. For sure, once these two stores open, travellers passing through the Bristol airport would not run out of options for their shopping. So if you are planning to visit Bristol anytime soon, watch out for the opening of the new stores.
